Bone Grafting

Gum disease results in the loss of bone around your teeth. Unfortunately, after tooth loss, the surrounding bone will deteriorate over time, decreasing in width, height and density and this process starts immediately.  Replacing teeth with dental implants will only function well if they are securely anchored in the jawbone for maximum support.

In cases where patients do not have enough bone to place an implant, we use specialised surgical techniques to regenerate your bone which is called bone grafting. There are a variety of sources of bone grafting materials for preserving or augmenting bone for dental implants.

At your consultation we will fully assess your teeth, gum and surrounding bone to see if this is a possibility for you.
